Camera moves & focus
Camera movement and focus components
Push-ins, pull-backs, dolly zooms, rack focus, parallax dives, pans, and scrolling camera stories for layered compositions.
The smallest category and the one most often forgotten. A static frame reads as a slide; a slow push-in reads as a shot. These apply the grammar of a real camera to compositions that have no camera at all.
They are built to wrap other content rather than replace it, so any scene in the catalog can be given a move without rebuilding it.

Camera Punch-In
hfDynamic zoom, slide, and 3D tilt-pan helpers for any wrapper (video, include, card) with cubic-easing defaults and an edge-defocus pulse overlay
Dolly Zoom (Vertigo Shot)
hfCamera tracks toward or away from the subject while the field of view changes the opposite way, so the subject holds its frame size while the background collapses behind it or rushes in. Focal length is solved from dolly distance every frame against d * tan(FOV/2) = const, not keyframed beside it. Requires depth: the subject sits on the z = 0 plane and the content behind it must be layered or genuinely 3D (translateZ at two or more distinct depths) -- a flat element gains nothing from this move.
Drift Hold
hfA centered content card stays subtly alive through loop-exact rotation, scale breathing, and a slow light sweep.
Focus Rack
hfFocus shifts once between two cards at different apparent depths through synchronized blur, dimming, scale, and parallax.
Pan Stations
hfA lateral camera move across a continuous row of labeled feature stations, with a steady dwell at each stop before the next pan.
Parallax Device Dive
hfA canonical phone rises into view before the camera pushes through its screen and layered app UI expands to fill the frame.
Pull Back Reveal
hfA tight stat detail holds, then one decelerating camera pull-back reveals the headline and supporting cards that recontextualize it.
Push In
hfA centered headline gains focus through one slow, continuous camera push and a gentle fade out.
Rack Focus
hfA focus pull with real aperture bokeh: the focal plane travels from a near subject to a far one, so one resolves as the other blows into hard-edged polygon discs that clip to a cat's eye toward the corners. A focus pull only reads against content at two clearly separated depths, so this block carries its own depth-layered night exterior and puts both subject depths on variables.
Scroll Camera Story
hfA compressed forced-scroll cinematic pass: a tall scene of slotted sections travels past the camera top to bottom, depth layers parallax at different rates, each section rises as the camera reaches it, and the pass decelerates into a held final section.
